Diagnostic Assessment

Assessment services include an initial intake and clinical interview with parents/legal guardians; one or more face-to-face testing sessions with the child or adolescent; a feedback session with parents/legal guardians; and, depending on the child’s age, a feedback session with the child or adolescent as well. In some cases, an observation at your child’s school may be necessary, and I will often request information from your child’s teacher or child care provider. A follow-up or “booster” session can be provided on request.
I will help you prepare your child for testing so you will know how to describe the process to them. In addition to answering your questions about how to best support your child, I also want older children to think about their own assessment questions. This will not only help me help them but will also help them be more invested in the process.

Consultation services can take a variety of forms, but they will generally involve a one-time session with you as the parent/legal guardian along with some prep time for me. A follow-up or “booster” session may also be helpful at times.

A single-session intervention is a single face-to-face meeting that targets a specific problem and focuses on the factors that underlie solutions rather than the factors that underlie the problem.
